Andi & Roxas - June's Joint Player of the Month |

It's now July and the closing stages of the regular season are upon us, after a relatively quiet month its time to give out the Player of the Month award. This month it is once again a joint award, and it goes out to Andi of Super Team Dynamic and Roxas of the Soccer Kings. Both players are tied on player votes over the 5 rounds of June, and both deserve the award for their superb performances over the month of June.
Andi, a relative newcomer to the ACSSL has only played in 6 matches, and already scoops the award for Player of the Month. Brought in as a replacement for Topgun, Andi is climbing his way up the STD ladder steadily, already close behind the second highest goal scorer in the team.

It is also Roxas' second Player of the Month award, showing he has what it takes to drive his side home. Already having bagged 64 goals this season, Roxas is well clear of others in his side, and most of the ACSSL in goal scoring prowess. Roxas has played a major part in Soccer Kings' much improved results and helping his side into Premiership contention in the minds of most followers.

New Server Skins |
|
Earlier tonight the ACSSL Public Server was locked for an update, that update being the introduction of new player skins (Yes we finally got it to work!). The new Terrorist skin is of Lucas Neill wearing an Australian jersey and the Counter-Terrorist's is Francesco Totti in his Italian jersey. Temporarily, you can view the Australian skin here, and the Italian skin here. They will also both be available for download in a new section of the web site over the coming days. I'd like to say a thanks to Yiiannii for getting the skins working in game, and thanks to w33nie, (that stunningly hot individual), for creating the 2 new skins.

New South Wales - State of Origin Winners |

Congratulations to the entire New South Wales squad for putting in a superb effort over both of the State of Origin matches this weekend. New South Wales were led superbly by Hrvat who chose a very strong side in all departments. Hrvat elected an unwavering shield in defence, consisting of Mahamadou, Srna, Stylez and the Blues' last defensive line, Little Tortilla Boy. All of whom provided the sturdy defence needed to win a title. They were supported by a menacing attacking pack in Hrvat, Kirkn, Lampard, Thugly and myself. Commiserations to Queensland, who played well, and may state that the score line did not completely reflect the flow of the game. I would also like to thank all who played or were available for their states.

We are also presenting a Player of the Series Award, and it is my pleasure to hand this to my state's captain, Hrvat. Hrvat led by example throughout the State of Origin mini-tournament, hammering home 11 goals and picking up 3 assists.

Roxas & Yiiannii - May's Joint Player of the Month |

As the State of Origin mini-tournament will be taking up the rest of the month of May, all of the ACSSL matches for this month are now complete, and thus the Player of the Month award is now due. It is also a first for the league that we are presenting the Player of the Month award to two players, Roxas of the Soccer Kings and Yiiannii of HellSpawns, who tied on player votes over the past 3 weeks.
Roxas is a key figure in the newly merged Soccer Kings side, and is regularly seen slotting the ball home from 18 yards. Astoundingly Roxas only played 2 of the 3 Soccer Kings matches this month, but still managed to pick up 2 Man of the Match votes and 19 goals. |
Yiiannii has also managed to establish himself as a key figure in his side, the HellSpawns, but in becoming a rock in defence. He has become inseparable from the HellSpawns line up, providing the security in the back that is needed to maintain first position in the ACSSL. Yiiannii also picked up 2 Man of the Match votes over the month of May.

Name Change, Site Change & State of Origin |
|
You should have noticed that The Reapers F.C. have undergone a few changes quite recently, most notably a name change. They have changed their name to Premier Stars United, but are still essentially the same team, even if it is now minus Lampard, and including the introduction of an ambitious new captain, Scouser.
There is also a newer section of this web site opening up over the next week, being the Goal of the Round section. One goal will be picked each week by myself and keeper Kirkens, and displayed on this web site. Then at the end of the season, the best goal out of these will be chosen as the Goal of the Season. I will complete the previous rounds best goals soon.
My last note, and probably most important is that the State of Origin Semi-Final draw has been made. By virtue of availability, the states themselves have decided the draw. The Semi-Final draw is:
Queensland v Victoria - Thursday 8pm, 24th of May
New South Wales v South Australia - Friday 9pm, 25th of May
Then the winner of these two semi finals will play for the State of Origin title on Saturday the 26th of May, at 9:30pm. The losers of these semi finals will play out for 3rd place in the 3rd & 4th playoff at 8pm, the same Saturday night.
