Soccer Kings - ACSSL Champions

The conclusion of the inaugural Australian Counter-Strike Soccer League season has produced its first champion, the Soccer Kings. Pulling through and finding the right formation to counter the All Stars in the Grand Final was central to their hard fought victory.

After lifting the Cup in front of his loyal fans, Soccer Kings co-captain Chaos said a few words for us, "All of the players from the Soccer Kings squad firstly congratulate All Stars on their magnificent performance tonight, you put up a strong fight and put up a star game for us to beat.
"I want to now congratulate the team on a magnificent performance not just tonight, but all throughout the first season of the ACSSL. You've always fought hard for the win and never given up, and worked as a strong team in doing so. Can't wait to see you all next season"

And from me, congratulations to SK for a great campaign, and thank you to everyone who has played a part during the first season of the Australian Counter-Strike Soccer League. I couldn't have hoped for more.

Be sure to be back next season, when the ACSSL kicks off again on the third weekend of August. In the meantime, enjoy the upcoming Relegation Playoffs.

The Relegation Playoffs

The deadline for new teams interested in entering the Relegation Playoffs has now passed, and as such, the fixtures and format of the playoffs can now be announced. Due to the collapse of Super Team Dynamic and Born 2 Pwn, the Relegation Playoffs will now promote four teams to the ACSSL for Season 2. The ACSSL teams that have been brought into the playoffs are Venomous Shooters and Blazers F.C., and the non-league teams who have signalled their intent to qualify for the League are, Radiance, Fusion Football Stars and Obsidian.

The Relegation Playoffs will include four matches, which have been worked out to be fair for all concerned. The winner of each of these four matches will be promoted to the ACSSL, and only the loser of the last match will be demoted to non-league status until Season 3 or under exceptional circumstances.

The Relegation Playoffs fixtures can be found here, and the Relegation Playoffs explanation page can be found here.

The Grand Final

The Inaugural Australian Counter-Strike Soccer League Grand Final will be fought out by the All Stars and the Soccer Kings.

After three thrillingly tense finals matches, the two sides competing the inaugural ACSSL Grand Final will be the All Stars and the Soccer Kings. Two sides have now determined their placings by bowing out of the finals series, STD in 4th place and on the brink of total collapse with the departure of Sharwing, and HellSpawns in 3rd, sinking to a three game losing streak after winning the previous thirteen. Be sure to tune in to our Source TV Channel for the Grand Final this weekend.

Proceeding the Grand Final will be the Relegation Playoffs to decide some of the lower placings in next season's competition. Any team wishing to enter this competition and take on Venomous Shooters, Blazers F.C. and Born 2 Pwn for their places in the ACSSL must email me here by 11:59pm on Thursday the 26th of July. So far Team Radiance and Vandammage's new side have signalled their intent to take on the under-estimated might of the lower third of the ACSSL.

HellSpawns - ACSSL Minor Premiers

HellSpawns have finally wrapped up what has been a relatively easy season for them as runaway leaders from early stages they held onto their place throughout constant challenges this season. So they are now titled the Australian Counter-Strike Soccer League Minor Premiers for Season One. Although rather unceremoniously finished, the end of the season caps some great performances over the year, with numerous Goals of the Round, a Player of the Month award and leading the individual goal scorers list.

H$ will now focus ahead to the tough ACSSL finals series, and the upcoming Major Semi Final against the twice

surmounted All Stars, a win would place the Hellspawns straight into the finals, leaving the loser a tough match against the winner of the Minor Semi Final.

The end of the regular season also signals the end of all first season ACSSL competition for half of our teams, some of which will be involved in the relegation playoffs beginning soon, of which will receive further updates soon. Then for others, the wait for the second season of the ACSSL, which will begin on the third weekend of August.
